Ok well im looking for some 26" tires, the thing is i do like 65% road. I am looking for a tire that will do well on road, and the occasional trail with relatively light weight. Im not looking for one of those 250gram road tires because when i do get around to the trail i doubt it will hold well. So yea if you have any recomendations, im trying to keep it under 2" to avoid rolling resistance

I am also looking for a similar tyre, i am on road and off-road and i also need a good one that will have grip off-road but not slow me down that much on. I'll use this thread then hopefully

i know that this tyre doesn't qualify to your specifications, but i have the Maxxis Hookworm (26x2.5) and it handles GREAT on road and hardpack/trails. It does spin in mud pretty easily if you're in a lower gear, but if you dont expect to do much on loose or wet dirt, the tyre is sweet. Also, something that will most likely turn you off is that it weighs bout 1.25kg, i dont know the conversion into pounds tho. Finally, despite the weight and width, it las very little rolling resistance due to the thread and handles almost as good in the wet as when dry (on road).

I was looking for the same type of tire and ended up with a set of Maxxis Larsen TTs. They are 26" x 1.9" and are great on the road and more than hold their own on the trail. I am almost through the first set and am going to pick up another. Hope this helps.

I'm considering buying a set of those, my knobbly tires make a lot of noise, a lot of vibration, and have a lot of rolling resistance for pavement. I don't do a lot of riding in loose sand, mostly pretty firm dirt roads/trails. The semi-slick middle would be great for road riding, while the outside would let you bite when you cornered, or in looser terrain.

I ride Specialized Crossroads, solid zig-zag line down the middle and knobbies on the sides. No noise and good grip on hardpack and loose stones. I like them.

Schwalbe racing ralphs are an award winner according to a UK magazine but pricey. 555g for the 2.4 so lightweight, hard wearing and the grip aint bad either. Can be tricky to find in shops. Search the net also. Also known for low rolling resistance. For road / off road mix, I recommend 2.1's
