Please advise on new disc brakes

I´ve been using shimano entry level brm 486 with 160mm rotor for 1 year now, and brake performance got really bad, even after fully bled and new pads.I am willing to invest in new disc brakes, but with so many brands to choose from and so many contradicting online reviews, it got confusing.Anyone really happy with their brakes that could advise me?Thanks in advance.

Probably can't talk you into shimano again - but I have been using XT for a while. I have and have used others but the XT's seem to need the least maintenance and stop the best.

I would say Hayes Prime . . . but that's what I do
