Have 24" cruisers rendered my 20" obsolete?

Hey guys, I have one of these:

But all the guys at the bike shop keep telling me that all the cool kids are riding cruisers now, and that with more and more 24" cruisers hitting the market, 20" BMX bikes are going to be obsolete soon and will probably disappear off the market in a couple of years! Is 24 the way to go? What are the advantages to having a bigger wheel? If I stick to my 20", am I doomed to a life with no friends, no boyfriend, and no one to ride with?!

Ironically, 24" BMX cruisers did kill the older 26" BMX cruisers.

They're already obsolete? Man, that must be why everyone at the track looks at me like I'm a loser! And here I thought it was because I couldn't clear the step up!

Speaking of obsolete, I went into a big bike shop last week looking for a U-brake, and the mechanic(!) said "U-brake? You can't get those any more."

I was tempted to ask where they got the ones that were on a few BMX bikes on the rack about 10' from his station, and that I was going to put it on a mountain bike with roller cam bosses, but I didn't want to make his head explode.

+1 I'm going back to dirt bikes where I belong. Wonder if my Torsten Hallman Desert Pants still fit? Where'd I put my Bell Moto III?
