Land Rover Shogun Nodachi 2011 vs Claud Butler Pinelake 2011

Simply put, which is better if there is anything really to set them apart. From what I can tell they are very much alike. The LR Shogun has Suntour 2025 forks and the CB Pinelake has Suntour 2025n 63mm forks.. I haven't a clue what the difference would be. The CB has better rims from what I can tell as they are double walled where as the LR just states them as being alloy. But the LR is higher priced then the CB so I wonder where the cost goes too, any idea's??? here are some links to compare....

First, read this.

Second, without wishing to crush your burning desire for a new and shiny ride, both of those look pretty ordinary. Have you thought of getting a better quality bike seconhand? If you look around you may find better bikes with limited use for the same money, could be worth a look.

pretty ordinary?? its a mountain bike lol. If its too extraordinary its more likely to be stolen and I would rather have a new ordinary bike then a second hand top of the line bike. All mountain bikes look the same pretty much only the added components make a difference which was something I was enquiring about becuase I know little of what is quality other than carbon is better than alloya dn alloy is better than steel

What is your intended use for this bike? It sounds like maybe you're looking for a general bike to get you around, in which case a MTB is likely not what you need, and if you're really set on a MTB, those still wouldn't be good choices for get-around bikes. In any case, what type of riding do you plan to do with it?

If you plan to hit some real MTB trails, trust us, a new lower end bike isn't going to be a better choice than a good condition used bike with better components(particularly the fork).

I'd suggest doing some more research here, just since you said it's the only thing you really know about bikes. That's definitely not the case. I prefer steel for a road bike (as do MANY others, including some high end racers) and aluminum for a MTB (again, as do MANY others). I pretty much want nothing to do with carbon other than some nice/light components on my road bike.

IMO you should be looking at bikes that, at a minimum, have (among other things) threadless headsets. The overall low-end component spec of those bikes aside, a threaded headset and quill stem would be a deal-breaker for me.

Im sorry, I assumed you wanted this bike to go mountain biking on. If that is the case then I still recommend going secondhand at that price point. If you just want to get around there are better choices, look at hybrid style bikes.
