Did I get ripped off or is this a decent value?
Hi all, I am a twenty nine year old guy looking to get into mountain biking. Not really interested in trying to do any gnarly jumps or anything but mostly for fun and fitness. I recently purchased a bike off of ebay and have no idea what i bought. Could you guys tell me if it was a good value and is it a good starter mountain bike? Thanks in advance. I really enjoy reading your forums.

I paid 355 for the bike plus 75 s&h. Did I get a good value and do these appear to be decent components and is this a good beginner bike? Any input will be greatly appereciated. Thanks!

As long as it doesn't appear to have been abused I'd say you got a pretty good deal. All the components would have been very good high quality parts back when it was new, it just all depends on how well it was maintained and how much it was ridden.

The guy said it had been ridden very little because it was a bit big for.him. It had no scratches or anything on it. It is a 17.5 inch frame and I am 5 8 1/2 so this should fit me very well shouldn't it?

On average that's a pretty good frame size for someone who's 68.5" tall. If it's in good shape, that's a nice bike for $430.
