What year is my Rockhopper?

I just traded an old '90 Trek 330 for this. Very low miles and looks to be all original. It's super clean, almost no scratches. It was well cared for. The RockShox Indy XC is good and solid and seams to have many more miles left on it. I looked it up on Bikepedia and I decifered it to be a '97 WIW?

I believe this is a '97 Comp FS but I'm not sure.

Now with bigger Maxxix Ignitors 26x2.35's

Close enough. Ride it.

The graphics appear to be from that era. I'd just call it a '97 and enjoy it.

That thing is pristine.

Thank you. I'm quit proud of it. I just got it a few days ago. I traded a guy a pretty rough '90 Trek 330 road bike for it. Some one took great care of this bike and or never road other much. It was also recently serviced by a LBS here in town right before we traded.

I like it even more with the bigger tires. And for a mountain bike its pretty fast. It has great gearing.

Honestly I'm new to mountain biking. So I'm open to suggestions. I like the grip shift but what do you suggest?

Not sure of any upgrades at this time.

I am sure of a few. Ask previous owner what he did but thats a 99 Rockhopper FS and it has already been upgraded. The stem and fork and shifters were replaced. I am even guessing the bars. Notice how the fork an stem match someone loved that bike and took good care of it probably only rode it on bikepaths. Just ride it and enjoy as your skill increases you might want to upgrade to a whole new level.
