Buying used Cannondale Prophet 3

Hello everyone. Finally getting my fat ass on a bike. Had my sights set on a Trek 3900 disc. Little back story. I'm 5'11 damn near 280lbs. Let my self go. Recently road a mountain bike and loved it. It was an older Trek from early 2000's. Did some researching and was referred to a Trek 3900 disc. Not a bad looking bike for under $600. I just put an ad up selling my new in box iphone 4s and threw in there I'd be interested in a good bike. This is what brings me here now.

I was offered a 2008 Cannondale Prophet 3. these are the specs he sent me...

. . . specs include full fox shocks 140mm front 130mm air shock rear with rebound front fork rebound and compression 26x2.10 maxxis rigdgeline tires with avid juicy 3 hydraulic disc brakes front and rear 11-26 rear sprocket and 22-32-44 front chain rings. bike stock except for seat.
has minimal use and does look great in the pictures. Cant find much if any input or reviews on this bike, so i turned to this forum. Is this a decent bike to start out on? I like the disc breaks, nice seat, and always heard cant go wrong with a cannondale.

Any input you guys would have would be very appreciated. Just dont want to drive 2 hours(half way meetup) and find out the bike cant support me. I did see it has a 17.5-18 inch frame which should fit a 5'11 height perfect. Again, any suggestions? Good bike?
