All depends what your looking for, where you ride, and how much cash you have to spend. I really like running my tires at a low pressure for NE weather and racing, so I like Intense because I can run them at 16psi without pinching. Maxxis are nice, dont pack up very fast, fast rolling, but ive found that theyre better for dry conditions. Ive also heard great things about Kenda's. Many people I know that race up here run the WTB Timberwolves, I might give them a shot next season.
As for now.....Im going to continue running Intenses because I really havent found anything I DIDNT like about them. O yeah....Gazzy's and Tiogas suck for DH, try some others.....you'll see.

I have to pedal up the hills 1st, so I ride on P'racer Fire Mud Pro's. (1.95) They're lite weight & grip like a cat flyin' DH....
BTW. You're tires & wheels are where the extra weight on the bike are most noticable. I'd rather have a heavier frame than heavier wheels/tires anyday.
