Maruishi AT-6...need info

I recently bought a red mountain bike that is pretty solidly built...the brand is Maruishi and on the top tube it says AT-6 on both sides. My problem is, I can't find out ANY information online about this bike. It has a single speed Sugino crank and a 6 speed freewheel with some derailleur that I can't figure out the name of. That's about all the information I can give from the bike (and sorry I don't have any pictures up right now; I'll get those posted as soon as I can) so if anyone knows anything about this bike or anything about mountain bikes by Maruishi, that would be quite helpful

So I was able to get the pictures on here sooner than I had anticipated. Here they are...I hope this provides a better idea of the aspects of the bike. Also, I was just as daft as ever when posting that first bit...the derailleur is a Shimano Skylark SL10 which suggests a late 70s or early 80s bike. It has Chang Star brake levers, basic side-pull caliper brakes, a Shimano thumb shifter, 26 inch wheelset. Sorry the first post was so empty of information, but I hope this helps. Sorry about the quality of the pictures too...phone camera :/

You might want to post this in Bikeforums' Classic And Vintage as well.

A cursory Google search will bring up some odds and ends. Try it.

My guess would be 1985 or 86. I don't know anything about the brand, but it appears to be a lower end bike shop quality bike - somewhat like this Schwinn:

Do a search on Maruishi, there's plenty of threads and posts on them, I didn't see one on your model but I didn't really look.
It's a Japanese brand that has/had some sort of association with Jamis.
After looking at a few threads on this brand it looks like they are very collectable and everyone that finds a secondhand bike from this manufacturer is happy, it looks like they might be a bit better then a low end bike shop brand.

Thank you guys for this insight. I have been searching as many different forms of "Maruishi AT-6" as keywords as I can think of and it all comes up with pretty much the same results: maruishi road or touring bikes. From the forums, I understand that what was once Maruishi is now Jamis so that is the relation there. There is a Craigslist listing for a Maruishi Mountace MT15 in the SF Bay area and some listing on some other website for a Mountace 18, but those two are literally the only mountain bikes by maruishi I can find online. There is not even a single mention of any AT series by maruishi. Although, I do agree with you, cobba, from what I have been able to find on maruishi brand cycles in general, people tend to be very pleased with them.
