Mace Solo Trigger, perfect partner for my iPod

Ohh I got to get one of these!

Mace has introduced the Solo Trigger helmet for those who are into rockin' out while they ride.* Yes, the Solo Trigger comes with headphones built into the foam of the helmet and a discreet cable to plug in to your mp3 player, iPod or CD Player.

The helmet is a phenomenal concept that allows you to listen to your favorite tunes while you ride.* One of the great things about this helmet, is the fact that the headphones are actually built into the helmet's foam, so they don't actually cover your ears.* This will allow you to actually hear the people around you.... if you don't have your music turned up too loud.*

I will have to make sure my iPod is safely packed away, so when I crash I don't trash it.

Not a bad idea, although, what about XCers, we dont wear helmets like that and i love listening to music while out doing xc...

Still think listening to music when out on a mountain bike or any bike in general is a really bad idea. You need to hear what is going on around you and you need to hear what your bike is doing in the first place.

That is very true... i usually turn it down really low just so i can her the music a little bit, i can hear cars, the wind blowing past me, and usually any stuff that happens to my bike.....

Ditto...thats my preference too. I can usually hear my bike breaking before it does :D

That and it is good to hear the bears. You don't want to sneak up on a black bear and her cubs.

I knew I should have gone for a patent on that. I had a DIY version a few years ago with a Pro-Tex snowbarding helmet - the speakers were built into the ear flaps. I don't listen to music when I ride anymore, though.

:(

I got this helmet as a b-day gift last week, I have not had a chance to take a ride, but walking around my house with it hooked up to my iPod, it sounds fairly good. even at full volume I can still hear what is going on around me. Can't wait to hit the trails.

I got some non-noise cancelling headphones that I honestly use when I ride. I don't on the trail, but I experimented with them a bit in Australia, and even when I was pulling the group into a headwind, I could still hear anytime anyone said something, and I could hear cars coming up behind the group. I mean, I kept the volume quite low, but it was no less inhibitive to my hearing than the wind noise I would be hearing otherwise.
