Got knickers, BAGGY! All like that?
I'm a road rider during the summer and a MTB rider in cooler and cold weather. My old pair of bib shorts are ripped to shreds from riding in the woods so now I've been wearing regular shorts over my good pair of road tights.
I ordered through the mail a pair of MTB knickers. I wanted the calf length. I thought that was a good idea for colder weather and any cuts and falls. However, I put them on and my wife laughed! They fit me great in the waist, butt, and frontal area but the legs, the legs, I could fit another person in them. Is this the way MTB knickers are? I'm 60 years old. Is this what I can wear? I'm not use to that type of look. If they are all are NOT like this, I'll send them back. |
are they comfy? if so, who cares what others say or how they look. i would think by 60 you would realize you can pretty much wear whatever you feel like. i think roadies with all the kit look ridiculous. i ride in baggy stuff on my road bike. some are super baggy so you can wear armor under them. they shouldn't look like clown pants though.
Endura make great knickers, as does chrome and zoic. post a picture of yours, or at least tell us what brand you have. |
Here's a picture of the knicker shorts, Hoss Ponderosa Knicker shorts. In the picture to me they don't look very baggy but they are huge, you can put an elephant in them. They feel comfortable with the lycra shorts inside and the chamois. I didn't know if all the baggyiness would catch on branches and the nose of the bike when I'm getting on and off the bike.

I bought the same "Knickers" that you posted. My wife calls them man capris and my teenagers think I' a wanna be surfer old guy.
But those are the most comfortable shorts I have owned. The material stays cool out here in the southwest. I already worn them in 100+ heat. I have thought about having 3-4 inches cut off just to keep the women in my house quiet. BUT, look, if dminor sports em, everyone should get a pair. That is d behind those goggles isn't it? |
Try swrve or chrome knickers, they're cut on the slimmer side.
