if you were going to put on a bike festival, what would you have? what would you do?
races? no races? contests (wheelie contest, fixed gear skidding contest, etc)...
would there be organized events? bike polo? tall bike jousting?
would you want to see big name riders? (ride with cam mcall, watch danny mcaskill do a demo, etc)
other than free beer and lots of boobies, what would make the super most kick ass bike festival ever?

Before I even started planning the festival itself, I would take a twist on the idea of altering existing mountains with trails & jumps & lifts to make it the best mountain in the world for MTBing, & I would rather build a new mountain from the ocean floor up to be the best mountain in the world to bike down/on.
Then I would begin to plan the festival...

Yes races; one XC; one gravity - - probably more super-D-ish, so that more can participate and doesn't take all day to wrap up. Kids' race around the camp. Stupid-fun adult races (kids bikes or?).
Yes contests. Wheelie, manual, nose wheelie, no-brake slides (distance and style), Huffy (Vertical, Mongoose, whatever) toss, etc. Bonus for an exhibition Huffy-toss utilizing a Red Bull-sponsored catapult .
Group rides of varying length, skill/fitness levels. With a big name or two a plus.
MEGA schwagg.
Craft brewery sponsor.
Good on-site camping.
