I want a 26" tire under 2"

I am looking for a good light weight mtb tire for a 26" wheel that is under 2". I plan to use it for cyclocross and general road riding and XC on good hard pack. It has to be a clincher as well.

Any suggestions ?

What he meant is that there really is not a tire that will do all of what you ask for. The only thing that would do just ok is a semi-slick tire. Which is a dying breed.
Probably better off just searching google for something.

The Michelin Country Rock is listed at 1.75" and is great for fire roads and gravel paths. The Schwalbe CX is listed at 1.35" and is a great cyclocross tire. The Continental Gatorskin can be found as narrow as 1" and is a great tire for pavement. The Kenda Kross is a semi-slick that doesn't do any of these things well but is the best compromise of all the things you want to do. I don't recommend one tire to rule them all- you'll be disappointed eventually.

Can you still get the Continental Cross-Country in the 1.5"? Those were pretty awesome tires.

Ritchey Tom Slicks. I think Performance still carries them.

Dunno about racing CX on them, but I'm running Tioga City Slickers in 26x1.5s.

If it were tubeless, it would be listed as UST. Even so, you can always run UST tires with tubes in them. But this tire isn't.
