I got a bite on my item, so now i have 50 dollars to play with.
Well i finally got a bite on my item on ebay, so far its at 50 dollars on the first bid so we will see how high it goes. Anyways i need ideas of how to spend it. I have upgraded all the major things (fork, wheels, frame, drivetrain, brakes) to what i want so im looking at the little things. ANd to shave off maybe a pound, well not with this 50 alone. So far im looking at
Ritchey Tom slicks (i dont do trail riding in winter, just road)
a shiny new stem
or some shiny new brake levers
Any recommendations for these two catagories of products?

I'd say stem myself, but only because I personally want a longer/higher one.

I have the EA70 stem and Avid SD-Ti levers... got the two for about $60 total, I think. I bought them both on ebay from different people, but I can say I'm happy with the upgrades.

With a 'bite' on your 'item', I'd save up a few more dollars and get over to the clinic. Best to get that taken care of pronto.

Well i have decided, I will get some Ritchey Tom Slicks because i think that will make the most noticable difference for now, and save up a few extra dollars for the avid ti's. Thankyou all

tubeless? yuck. Im only in highschool so i dont have a heck of a lot of cash consistently. If i get a flat with my clincher wheels it costs me 5 bucks to replace a tube, or better yet, patch it for even less. If i get a flat with a no tube system then it costs 50 to replace a wheel. No way

uhh no it doesnt...you just run a tube. You also get enough for more than 2 wheels i believe.

Hmm, well ive done a little research on the no tube kit. SO if something happens i can always run a tube? How much of a difference does this thing really make? ANd will i be able to use tires that are say...1.4

Check up on the website for tire info....some work very well with it, and others dont. It should save quite a bit of rotational weight, which would be very easy to notice. Depending on the tires and tubes your running of course. But, yes....if something happens, you can always run a tube. For $50, this would be an upgrade you would really notice if you do alot of xc riding. If you mainly commute on your bike(hence the 1.4tires)...I may not get this just because im pretty sure switching tires is a pain in the ass.
