Specialized Hardrock. Uncommon Factory Paint Schemes?

I've started noticing that I have a somewhat uncommon paint scheme, meaning I've only seen it once on the internet. I have the Dark Blue with Stars paint scheme on my 2005 Specialized Hardrock Sport, I was wondering if this was an uncommon paint scheme?

Were there any other uncommon paint schemes?

Also any ideas on a touch up paint for this particular color?

I take my bike to the model shop and go to the little bottles of paint. I have always been able to find something that works. Never had anyone gripe about the bike in the store. Therre are also little bitty brushes that put down just a line of paint line a micro-point pen. Those help.

I'm almost positive that that's from before Specialized introduced the Myka and that's the women's version of the Hardrock, hence the alternate color scheme.

I don't know about about you but the bike is pretty big for most women, I'm 5'11' and it fits me perfectly. I think it's a 19" frame.

2013 Myka is available in a 19". The large Safire is 18.5" too. Also I had women throwers on my college track team who were taller than you. It doesn't really matter, the geometry is just probably skewed to fit someone with proportional longer legs and shorter torso. If it fits you better, it's not like it's a big deal.

Specialized has done some unusual things through their distribution reps in the past. My son bought an Endruro back in '01 or so that was a Europe-only export model with a paint scheme not offered in the States. Seems like Spec. had a surplus of Euro export models, so they blew them out through their regional reps to who-knows-how-many dealers. Kid got a great deal on a nice bike at the time.

In 2005-2006 Specialized had some really different paint jobs. They did a strange Black to Gray number that imitated wet black paint, wind swept onto the Gray. Not my favorite combination, but when one of the frames in my size showed up on CL for $30 a few years ago, I grabbed it and built it up with spare parts. I'm on the road now, on my job, but when I get home, I'll see if I have a pic of it. I sold it last year as I'm trying to reduce the number of bikes I have. Also have a bright yellow 05 Specialized Rock Hopper. Around that time, Specialized was into some different paint schemes. I believe there's one hardtail model that came in a camouflage. So a few stars on the frame may be unique, but sounds typical of that era for them.

Go to your local auto parts store and look at the dizzying array of little Dupli-Color bottles. You're bound to find it. The also often have Dupli-Color in the small aerosol cans but the selection isn't as wide as the touch-up bottles.
