Help ID Jamis MTB
 

I need help identifying this Jamis MTB. It looks very nice and is well kept, but the owner doesn't really know anything about it. It's a special edition bike that he won in a contest. I'm new to MTB's and wanted a decent starting bike and was wondering if this would be good at the $250 asking price? Thanks for any help
