Info on Hyper Flite 26"

Im looking at a used Hyper Flite mountain bike. Im looking for a good beginner bike that would be able to handle some light pump track and trail riding. Im new to the sport and this seems like a good bike. It has dual suspension, aluminum frame, 21 speed, and other shimano components.

Any info on the bike in terms of durability, weight, riding comfort, etc.. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hyper is a "brand" carried at Walmart; these bikes are notoriously UNABLE to handle any sort of intense riding, like a pump track.

Durability: marginal.
Weight: excessive.
Comfort: acceptable only with significant investment in aftermarket parts.
Overall quality: suitable only for the weekend parent riding the subdivision with his/her kids.
MSRP: approx. $120 complete.

Even BikesDirect.com can do better than this 'boat anchor'.

If you're set on Hyper...Hyper makes some pretty badass BMX bikes that would be more than suitable for pump track riding. ;)

Don't bother with that hyper you asked about, it will be more headaches than it is worth. Outside of all the full suspension bikes, there's only a handful of them that would be good on a pumptrack and those are either likely well over your budget or comes as frame only which gets expensive.

Zephyr11 is spot on with the bmx bike thing. Get a basic bmx bike, something from danscomp or a lbs that is within a doable range with your budget, then save your money as you get more experience on it then get a 24" or 26" of your choice.
