LOOPWHEELS? Looks intimidating, but is it for real?

Anyone heard of these? Opinions?

My first reaction is its a stupid idea, gotta be bouncy, pogo stick effect to the max. But I have never taken one for a spin.

It sounds super inefficient (and gimmicky). They're also only Kickstarted in a 20" wheel.

Seems like they lack damping. There is also a youtube video:

The lab tests seem to support that there is no damping, they just keep oscillating. Inefficient when you're mashing for sure.

Still seems like it could be good for certain applications. Maybe sort of a better class of comfort bike. Or a decent ice-bike. Or how 'bout a Surly Moonlander with these?? They slightly remind me of those titanium wheels that Lightspeed helped NASA create for the recent Mars rover.

BikeRadar says that you can feel the flex when trackstanding or riding off-road but not while mashing on the road? I call BS.
