Can someone help me on this bike deal?

The highest trim Talon 29'er runs around $1300 new, the lower model is $890 new.
|
So would you say it is a good deal then? It's a good bike?
|
I don't think I would pay $400. for the bike, that is just me personally.
What year is the bike. You can research original costs and equipment at bikepedia.com That site has been very helpful to me in researching bikes. Please do consider that the seller grossly exaggerated the cost new. That would send me to the door without looking backwards. |

I am a cautious shopper and sometimes I miss a good value being over suspicious. I really think you can do well on a different bike. You might take a couple weeks to educate yourself on the bike market in your area. Be sure to research through sites like bikepedia.com.
BTW, welcome to the forum, glad to have you here. Mountain biking is a hoot. |

2011 Giant Talon 29er 2: http://bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeS...2#.UgJMym1TMw8
MSRP: $750 I think it's a fair deal at $400, assuming it's in as good of condition as it looks, though the exaggerated price would turn me off as a buyer. |

I'd agree, $400 is a fair deal. But that statement about the bike being worth $2500 when new makes a statement about the seller. Maybe he has a $750 saddle bag and a $1000 water bottle.
