diamondback topanga comp worth it?

hey its me again, friend of mine has this diamondback topanga comp 2001 with some mods, he is never riden it in mountains or abused it, its probably in great shape, how much should that bike be worth? and is it worth it for beginer? or look elsewhere?

here is some stuff he had done to it, he said he paid around 440 for it, but friend hooked him up with those parts
manitou susp, gyro, brakes, front n rear, front derailer, mountain trail pedals .
said total was around 350 and retail on bike+parts around 700

how much should i offer him, he did not want to take 320 that i gave him . but i duno if that bike is worth more

thanx

On the diamondback website it says the newer version is worth between $400-$700, $350 seems like a fair price for it. It seems like a bike ok for a beginner (mainly because its a "diamondback" and they can't handle as much abuse as an intermediate rider can). Your best bet is to bargain with him and see what you can get it for, but don't pay more than $450.

For a 2001? Even with upgrades I wouldn't pay $350
