I crashed today :( i think my saddle is broken (picture)
It was dark at night, i was going downhill and there was this huge curb that i didnt see and before i knew it my bike hit the curb at 20mph i went flying with a laptop in my bag and the whole left side of my body went numb, got a few grazes and such, but anyway, im wondering if the saddle i posted is fixable? or do i need a new one. it looks like the plastic that the metal is wrapped around is bent pretty bad, and its gone white, like when you bend a pastic ruler over and over.
any ideas would be great.
and also how do i check my wheels for damage, i just bought these a day ago and i hope they arent cracked or anything

The rails are tweaked fer sure! I don't know if I would trust them if you did get them leveled out. If the rims are rolling true then you dodged a major bullet there.
You took a major thump on the left side for sure, hope the laptop is firing on all cylinders as well. Crap, watch them stinking curbs.

Buy some lights and use them before something worse happens.

Yup, new saddle; tried to help a bud with his years ago, and only had partial success (used a crowbar, it was still in the seatpost clamp). He called it good enough, but had a new saddle less than six months later.

That saddle is toast. I've thrown out others for a lot less damage. I had one that barely bent a rail from a trail crash but it was enough to throw my hips off level and thus jack up my lower back.

The worst wreck I ever had and I've wrecked motorcycled too was on my bicycle in the dark years ago. I broke my frame and got really rashed and lumped up. oncoming headlights over a rise flash blinded me and I hit a black asphalt curb parallel at a good speed. I'm very luck I didn't land across the metal guard rail.

Think about this; if the saddle goes out while riding and you sit on it, you're expecting the saddle to be in a certain place. When it isn't, your body/mind automatically react to gain balance. When your on a bike, that automatic reaction can actually cause you to lose your balance and crash. The cost of a saddle isn't worth it. If you're strapped for cash, buy a used off ebay, but don't ride one that can cause you to crash.
I actually saw this kind of crash happen in a road pace line. Guy sat down and the saddle wasn't where it was supposed to be. He went down (hard), next one went down, next ran over something or someone, I think I was fourth and somehow managed to escape. The lead guy came out OK. Very mild concussion and a totaled helmet, I mean completely wrecked helmet. He was lucky.
