Help assembling my dual suspension, disc-brake MTB please :)

I got a 2013 Diamondback Recoil 29er in the mail from Amazon.
It came mostly assembled, with a few exceptions.

The only 2 things I cannot get right are the front tire and the chain.
I will go take a picture of what I'm talking about and post it.

Thanks in advance!

Here is a picture of the only 2 pieces I have not assembled yet.
They came screwed together, and I unscrewed them.

I attached the larger part to the front left of the fork, exactly like the one that came attached to the back part, but then the smaller part was left out with nowhere to go.

Does anyone have any clue how I assemble this part?

It did not come with specific instructions.. at all..

The other issue I'm having is that the chain is not fully on the first of 3 gears.
I'm assuming the first gear is the largest one.
When I attempt to put it on fully, it simply does not go on because of some metal part restraining it from doing so.

edit:
according to this image, the 1st gear is actually the smallest one.

got a pic of your fork? I'm guessing it's got post mounts so doesn't need that adapter.

Oh my, I think assembling boxed bikes might be just out of reach of your mechanical ability. Might wanna take it to a shop that can do this kinda thing.

Well, I just put the chain on the smallest gear of the 3, and now that problem is taken care of.

My only issue, at this point is that other thing.

I really appreciate your help.
I have not ridden a bike since age 16, and I am now 24.

I just got this one, as my first bike in 8 years, and would really love to get it assembled.
As soon as I do, I will ride it to the local bicycle shop for a good tune-up.

I'm about to post those pics now.

Back part that came pre-attached: (it has that converter thing attached to it, but it's shape is SLIGHTLY different)

It's fairly obvious that this part goes here on the front of the fork, but then what about that final smaller converter part?

180mm Post Mount (PM) adapter: https://northshorebillet.com/blog/wp-...ed185pm_sm.jpg

You'd only need the 180mm Post Mount adapter on the fork if you use a 180mm rotor.

* You don't need the extra washers between the brake caliper and the adapter that are shown in that photo, they are only needed on Avid brakes.

If you're using a 160mm rotor then you will bolt the brake caliper directly onto the fork post mounts like in the following photo.

https://cdn.velonews.competitor.com/f.../DSC02309.jpeg

The rear adapter is different because your frame has International Standard (IS) brake mounts, your fork has Post Mounts (PM).
Your brake calipers are Post Mount (PM).
Post Mount (PM) brake calipers directly mount to frame or fork Post Mounts when using certain size rotors, if larger rotors are used then PM (Post Mount) to PM (Post Mount) adapters are used like what you've been supplied.
To mount a Post Mount (PM) brake caliper onto International Standard (IS) brake mounts a IS to PM adapter is needed, like what you have on the rear brake.

I am very concerned that you are attempting to assemble a bike when you don't even know the names of the parts. It is very hard for anyone to help if you don't refer to things by their actual names. For example, is the 'metal part restraining it' the front derailleur cage? And if it is, why do you not know what causes the derailleur to move?

Stop working on it and buy this: https://www.amazon.com/Bicycling-Comp.../dp/160529487X

Now my bike is fully assembled, although there are still some major issues with it. I'm going to slowly ride it to a bike store and pay them to tune it up.
