Stupid Dad (no pics)

My son has been sick for a week and he started feeling better today. We went out and built him a couple of small dirt jumps, I thought it speed the recovery.I was showing him how to hit them and land smooth. He tries it and over jumps the landing the first time but he gets it after a few tries. Before we go back in I hit it one more time and wham, I crash hard! I case the landing go, over the bars, pile up and look stupid. What a Dilbert, thats what happens when and old guy tries to look cool.

No,he was busting a gut laughing.I crash quite a bit but it's worse when you say don't come up short and then you come up short.

Hmm, I guess I am different. Usually I am more concerned at the crashed person than laughing. Eh, I'm just odd?

Good Dad

No worries about bailing, that goes hand-in-hand with the sport. Wear good safety gear.

Don't break anything, old man.

Nice to hear that Dad's out there are spending quality time with their son's. You should be proud of yourself for being a good father. This is a day he (your son) will probably remember forever!

Been there done that. Watching some kids in the local park by some trails goofing off. They asked me if I could clear that double on my big ugly mtn bike. I gave it a shot and hit the face of the second jump. Not yet content, I tried again and did the same thing. Bit it hard and my left foot slammed into the crank. Broke my big toe in five places, broke the one next to it and spiderwebbed the instep almost back to my heel. The foot was about as purple as a Sobe Power drink for a couple of weeks. My doctor gave me the choice of a cast or just taping me up. (After he got done reminding me I wasn't a kid anymore and laughing). Took the tape job and felt the weather changes in my foot for the next two winters. Duh oh!

Ok, This "mark" should be old enough to know he should be wearing safety gear doing all that awesome crap.

Anyway, "Define old".. You're an "Old Man" the day you have a kid. In America, "old man" is slang for Dad.

Next time he may not wake up, that's why....

I don't always wear my helmet either.... My elbow/forearm pads & glasses? Well, that's a different story.

There's more 2 life than work, not much but some anyway....

I DID assume he was a Dad. Since I had my kid, I sudenly felt I need to be more careful not to get seriously hurt, or worse.
