My single speed rigid 29er project.
Hi all, I finished building my old frame up as a single speed yesterday. Here are some pictures.
Frame: 2012 Felt Nine Race
Fork: Salsa Cromato steel fork
Bars: Felt 680mm stock bars with ESI chunky grips
Brakes: Tektro Draco with 160mm front and rear
Front wheel: WTB Speed Disc i23
Rear wheel: Cheap Sta-Tru wheel from Amazon.
Crankset: Raceface Ride with a N/W 32 ring and 20 cog on the back
Chain tensioner: Surly Singleator
Tires: WTB Prowler 2.1 tires
Starting to come together.
Drivetrain
It's maiden voyage this morning
I almost ate it when I forgot I wasn't in my full suspension rig and hit a rock the same way.
All in all, I had fun building it, and it's a blast to ride. I topped out at 16 mph, spinning at about 120ish rpms.
