new rear shock for my heckler?

So I have a Heckler, maybe 2009 (not sure how to figure out the year?). I have a coil shock and it is heavy and doesn't lock out, I'd like it to lock out. Looking at Fox Float RP23 and CTD, does anyone recommend anything different? I'd like to keep it under $200 on ebay, $150 would be even better.

Also what size do Heckler's use? 8.5x2.5?

Thanks in advance!

I have the RP23 CTD on my Yeti SB66 and have been very happy with it. If you could spring for a CCDB Air that would be the pinnacle; but the RP23 will do you fine.

Fox has an Excel spreadsheet that downloads off their site. I have the link and the file on my computer at work but not here. A tootle search should turn it up or I can help later.

Found it: go to https://service.foxracingshox.com/consumers/index.htm; expand the Quick Tech: Rear Shock folder, then click on the Rear Shock Fit Chart. This will download the Excel spreadsheet with ALL the shock specs by brand alphabetically.

Measure the eye-to-eye and stroke length of your current shock.

Santa Cruz should be able to pin down the model year via the serial number.
