Knuckle-plated gloves with a boxer's fracture?

To start off, I know this is an odd question. But anyways, to any mountain-bikers who have suffered the ever-so-aggravating injury of a boxer's fracture, have you had any problems wearing knuckle-plated mtb gloves? I ask because I don't own a pair of these gloves, but I want them and I recently received a surgery to realign a boxer's fracture. The knuckle is way better than it was before, but it's still slightly displaced (as one would expect) and I figured there was a possibility that knuckle-plated gloves won't properly fit me because of it.

Are you fully healed up and OK to ride? I'd be more concerned about rebreaking that sucker with all the bouncing on Mtn bikes.

Not fully healed yet, but don't worry, I won't be getting on any bikes until I'm 100% sure my body is ready for such abuse. That's why I want the knuckle gloves, though. I want to try as best as I can to prevent another boxer's fracture

Boxer's fracture is metacarpal diaphysis. I'm all for gloves with knuckle protection, and I wear them myself, but my instinct says that since it's an injury from compressive force, rather than a chip off the met head, that knuckle protection won't do much to prevent another boxer's fracture.

I understand completely what you're saying, and you very well may be right, but I just want to be safe. I got the original fracture by punching a metal door when I was mad at my ex-girlfriend (she turned out to NOT be worth the trouble... who would've thought, eh?), and then I got the surgery about half a year later to get the bone realigned. Something tells me that if I had knuckle protection to absorb some of the force when punching that door, I would've been much better off and could have prevented all that future stress. I also could have not punched the door in the first place, but that's neither here nor there. I have barbaric tendencies

I broke my hand several years ago. It was on the mtnbike and a boxer injury. I have a pair of Oakley pilot carbon knuckle gloves and some made by shift that I wear on the Ninja with no problems at all.

Exactly the answer I was looking for, thank you kindly. I got a pair of cheap hard-knuckle gloves coming in the mail so I can see for myself, but this answer has improved my confidence. So again, thank you!
