Anyone else have this problem?
The other day while I was at my local shopping center on my bike with some friends, after stopping at KFC, a cop pulled up to us and said, "Go home" forcing us to leave. I thought it was odd that we got kicked out for doing absolutely nothing. We weren't even jumping anything, simply sitting in the parking lot. I later thought that maybe there were signs saying "No loitering" or signs baning bikes, but I can't find one. Cops see kids on bikes and immediately assume we're like the kids who write grafitti all over stuff and destroy things. I usually don't have problems with cops considering i have a mountain bike and cops usually go after BMX riders, due to their rep. The only thing i can think of was the fact that one of the kids i was with was on a skateboard and someone probably called the cops on us because no one seems to like kids much. I'm just wondering if anyone else has this problem, and what you do about it.

Maybe you looked like bad kids. Where you thinking disruptive thoughts?
Anyway, he probably thought he was doing his job. I guess there's no honest justification for his actions.

Ps. when they see my gray hair, they just assume I'm harmless.
Actually, that's depressing. I've reached a point in my life where the good looking girls no longer check me out......

The rent-a-cops are always pushing the bikers around in my area. I don't know if you've ever heard of them but they are "rentable cops". Technically security guards except for the logo on the side of their car the says "Ontario rent-a-cops". If they see people hanging around an area that aren't doing anything they get suspicious for no reason. Sounds like the cop you encountered was just being a jerk, or he thought he was being a bigshot.

Cops dont ever have a problem with me or my friends. Heck, Ive even rode (without a helmet) 2 feet away from a parked officer on his motorcycle and he didnt say a thing.
There is this insanely good bmx guy that rides around town with his two around 5 year old sons and sometimes the cops tell him to take his little brothers home... :\

I had a police officer ask me to bring my dog home, but that was because we were riding in the middle of the road
