boxguide and e13?

ok.. i have a 05 norco aline and i want to put a e13 bashguard on it because im sick and tired of waiting for the truvativ one iv had ordered for a few months now. anyways i went to buy one yesterday and the guy siad that the bashguard isnt compatible with the boxguide, is this true or is he just too lazy(busy) to space it. . i doubt it would be that difficult. if it is possible how hard would it be for me too do it myself?

Don't see why it shouldn't work... Just make sure the guide is spaced correctly. Doing it yourself is really a matter of trial and error. You will need a compatible crank puller and if you are not mounting to iscg, you will need a bottom bracket tool.

The truvativ boxguide I think is groove in order to maintain a certain chain line or something. I remember working on my cousins and thinking it wouldn't work with other bashgaurds very well.
