What do you think?

Hi guys, I appreciate for any help you could give me.
I'm willing to buy my first mountain bike, from a friend's friend (picture below). The price he asks is fair I guess (U$200), which made me go for it instead of investing in a new one. As I'm new to mountain biking, I was hoping anyone more experienced could tell me if this bike would be allright as a first one, especially considering that I'm 6'2. I know there are a lot of things involved, but I just wanted to know if anyone thinks this bike could be "garbage". Thanks so much! http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=397304 |
It's a BSO, worth it value as scrap, nothing more.

I don't know what that is. . . but a mountain bike it is not.

that frame design is interesting..I'd just stick to the MUP's and paved roads as I don't think it would hold up to real mountain bike trails.

Thanks for all remarks! Now i'm not even sure it is worth the 200 bucks..

to the seller ..
better off getting a hard tail; from a bike shop for something like another $150 more. like Treks 850 V brake .. throw in another C note to get the disc brake models .. |
You can find those bikes for like $25 on local listings. its a department store bike thats been repainted/destickered. Spend that $200 on a old 90's highend mountainbike or a used nicer one. lots of people sell nice bikes cheap. just gotta get it before others

Will do! Thank you for the advice Hsean and fietsbob

Looks like a Pacific PK-7. Aluminum main frame, Steel rear triangle. I have one or two of them. nice ride buy heavy. $200 is WAY too much. I bought mine at Target for $88.00 each.
