Maxxis or Kenda

EDIT: stupid comp messed up (again), the title is supposed to be Maxxis or Kenda.

Maxxis Hookworms 2.5 or Kenda Kinetics 2.6? I can't decide which one to order from my LBS, so which should it be. I'll be using them for urban, trails, and dirtjumping; but I can't decide. The Kenda's are cheaper and slightly bigger, but the Hookworm's are thick and better for the urban stunts. HELP!

(posted a thread back in december on the hookworms but I never got them and I want to put new tires on my bike.)

I had the kinetics with Stick-E and did DJs and urban.

Dirtbike 04-01-05 08:19 PM

madbiker555 04-01-05 08:41 PM

DAMN IT!!! My computer keeps doing this thing where it will repeat something I've erased and put it else where! ARGH! Is it possible for me to change the title somehow to: Maxxis or Kenda ?

i just got some maxxis holy rollers, they ride like hookworms, but can dj just as well

madbiker555 04-01-05 09:09 PM

Yep, i'd say Kinetics. My friend has 2.1 Kinetics and they work well, i'm not sure about the 2.6 though.. :(

Ironduke 04-01-05 09:19 PM

Kenda front, Maxxis rear.

madbiker555 04-01-05 09:25 PM

Best of both worlds... huh? :D

norcodirtjumper 04-01-05 09:42 PM

I have Kinetics 2.35 and i cant say nothing bad about them. Good all around tire in my opion.

alcahueteria 04-01-05 10:01 PM

I say maxxis and hookworms. I haven't used the hookworms but for some reason I am drawn to them.
However I am thinking of ordering some holy rollers for a little better dirt traction (I hope).

oh and madbiker and dirtjump your avatars are freakin' me out.

madbiker555 04-01-05 10:13 PM

He made my avatar and his was always flashy.

holy rollers get great dirt traction and roler super smooth on street...

alcahueteria 04-01-05 10:38 PM

I see, and thanks for the input it reaffirms my holy roller decision.

Hookworms IMO are an asphalt tire.
IMO? I don't ride 'em..I have seen mostly on urban.

Fixed.

LeviPounds 04-03-05 12:53 PM

i have kinetics and i feel like im on a motorcycle, slow on pavement though

Dirtbike 04-03-05 01:17 PM

They make your bike vibrate like crazy at low speeds because of the tread. They roll slow on the road but hook up pretty well in the dirt. Cant beat the price of $20 a tire.

madbiker555 04-03-05 02:43 PM

I can also get them at a Canadian Tire store nearby anyway, Im starting to think about getting the Maxxis Holy Roller. Whatever one I can get easier I'll go with.
