Suspension problem?
I don't know if it's just what the suspension fork is suppose to do, but everytime they compress it makes a hissing noise. Like air is escaping somewhere. I just want to make sure just in case it's not suppose to do that I can take it back to my LBS and get it replaced.
BTW I have a 05 Gary Fisher Opie (just got it a few days ago) It has Insync Edge 4 front suspension (100mm travel) I figure these are decent, but I know they are not the best. Anyway, if someone can just give me some advice about these things. Thanks |
im unfimiliar with that fork but i assume its just a coil over(no dampening) the hissing you hear is the air escaping as the fork compressses. nothin to worry about at all. all coil overs make that noise

never heard it from mine hmmmm
|
Its because it doesnt have a sealed air chamber; its just a couple sliding tubes with springs.

Damn they suck balls!

any fork will bend if you land on it right with the unnamed amount of pressure....
|
Yes, but he probably wouldnt have bent a DJ series fork from that crash.
|
Okay, well the question still remains. Should I just go ahead and take it to my LBS?
|
Nope. Its not mal****ioning. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your fork.
