Great forum! Trek 4300 1905 brake question
Great forum! I just got a trek 4300 and did not got the disc brakes. I was woundering what it takes to up grade to them and about what it would cost?? I do love the bike though.

definatly worth the upgrade....a rim brake is most effected by a bent rim...

Well the disc brakes raiyn is pricing out for you includes a far better wheel set and a far better set of brakes then would've been included if you went for the upgrade.
They're effective if you need them e.g. wet conditions, heavy rider

The stock parts that you would have gotten on the Disc version are absolute crap compared to these. These are parts that you could transfer to a better bike to be named later.
Personally I had a choice between the bike that I got and it's disc counterpart, I have NEVER regretted buying my own parts as the "upgrades" really weren't up to snuff with what I have now - exactly the same components that I listed above.
