Oops, didn't meant to put the '..' lol

Anyway, my fears:

1) Heights.......or maybe it's just the falling part??
2) Breaking my jaw or really screwing up my mouth (Oral surgery sucks!)

Those are the only two phobias that come to mind right now. =)

Zapcod 04-11-05 08:55 AM

I used to be afraid of hitting trees while trail riding in the middle of no where and breaking bones and other stuff. I am not afraid any more cause I hit a tree and broke my collar bone. I know now it just plain sucks but nuttn to be afraid of.

I am also afraid of riding along and my bottom tube or top tube breaking in half and running right through my leggs or something else down there.

thats all I can think of right now...

redmonster 04-11-05 07:39 PM

well, im afriad of hopping fences( jumped one once and my thumb got caught and ripped open, had to get stiches) also im scared of drowning and being buried alvie.

Hopper 04-12-05 01:04 AM

^^^ No surprise, aren't drowning, being buried alive and fear of hight all primal fears. Every human has them, they are instincts to keep us safe.

Raiyn 04-12-05 01:07 AM

  1. Hate heights, love climbing, but hate going down.
  2. Irrational fear of stinging insects. I haven't been stung (knock on wood), but based on my reactions to biting insects (mosquito and flea bites will swell locally and usually will scar) I'm not taking chances
  3. I used to be deathly afraid of dogs. Ever since one of my neighbor's dogs (I knew this dog quite well and it was never a problem before) attacked me I had a deep fear for quite awhile.
  4. I was scared to death during Hurricane season last year.
  5. My 10 year High School reunion is coming up and while it would be really great to go home and see the folks I really have little intrest in seeing many of the people in my class. Horrible I know, but I left to escape.

[bEn] 04-12-05 01:13 AM

1. I'm not that bad around heights, unless i'm really really high up.
2. Fear of big spiders and snakes.

Maelstrom 04-12-05 02:23 AM

Raiyn,

Seriously number 2...biting insects hurt way more than stinging. I will take a mosquito over a black fly or horse fly ANY day....once you get stung, you will be surprised how little pain there is. (at least based on my experience in northern canada)

It's not the pain factor. In fact far from it. It's the reaction factor. If mosquito and flea bites swell and scar I'm sure bee venom and wasp stings aren't going to be a cake walk for me.

Cornish_Rdr_UK 04-12-05 03:14 PM

I dont Like Confrontation
Im Scared of dirt jumps.

Heights are a laugh, and i dont like spiders.

Cornish_Rdr_UK 04-12-05 03:14 PM

Oh, and I hate the sound of rubbing your hand over carpet, that makes me run away and hide.

I'm afriad of falling of the edge of these trails i ride on its in the middle of the forest so its a looooooong way down (100ft maybe) you may have seen that laura hatch thing on the news it would be like falling that far down.
Also,im afriad of shredding my shins on my pedals if i land on them
Finally im afriad of when i land missing the seat and landing right on my...well you know....

SpiderMike 04-12-05 03:33 PM

1. Hate riding with slow people. And hate riding with stuck up people. Hince I ride alone most of the time.
2. I hate hypatheticals.
3. I fear going blind. Family history of Ret Pig. Docs still can't determine if I have it or not. See why I posted part 2. Learned that whole "come to it when I get there" creedo. So if worse cause scenario comes alone, I will be needing a tandem bike partner.

4. I feel that my biography will get put in the comedy section of Barnes and Nobles.
