Rebuild kits for Marzocchi Bomber Z-1 fork?

Seventeen years ago we promised our then 13 year-old son a new bike if he completed the fifty mile leg of the big annual Lance Armstrong charity ride. He did. We went to our LBS and picked out a Kona Blast, at the the suggestion of the shop upgrading to a Bomber fork. In a few years he outgrew it and since then the bike mostly hung on the wall.

This year it has become my 50-100 mile per week urban commuting bike....

The fork was rebuilt once "back then" when it was routinely ridden hard, no further problems as yet. But it seems like decent 26" rim brake front forks are going the way of the dodo. Sooner or later that vintage Bomber its gonna need a rebuild, does anybody know where I could get a replacement rebuild kit?

If I knew where to get 'em I'd buy a couple just to have them if needed.

And ya, I know I could make the bike a rigid, I have a rigid, but suspension works much better on my route to work.

Thanks,

Mike

What needs replacing? there isn't too much to go wrong on Bombers from that age, seals, if you can't get from a Marzocchi dealer/LBS, they can be sourced from Enduro ENDURO FORK SEALS FOR MARZOCCHIŽ

From memory of servicing a set of '99 Z3's a few year back, after the seals and oil, there wasn't anything else to do, it was easier than modern forks to service.

Have a look here for general info on Bomber servicing where to get rebuild kit for marzocchi bomber z2 bam?- Mtbr.com

Wow! A better outcome than I could have hoped for. Thanks ...and completely beyond the ken of the local LBS's when I asked around.

I knew this fork was stone-axe simple, I just didn't realize HOW simple.

While I'm on a roll; would you happen to know a source of replacement/different fork springs?

Thank you,

Mike

Would find the manual for you specific fork initially for the springs which fit Tenneco Marzocchi Suspension, then ebay or retrobike (plenty of US members) would be places to look if looking to change the spring.
