sizing a dj frame

I've got a couple projects on the go right now and i Aquired a new one today, but I'd like to know if I'm building the right size for what I wanna build.
I'm 5'11" and it's a 17" katmandu. The stock xct v4 is toast so I'd go rigid. But I'd like to know if this is considered too big for me as a dj bike. I ride a 20" xc frame and understand djs should be a bit smaller but how much smaller*
