new gear ratios for regular mt bike
SO what is the change in gear ratios regular mt bikes are running now. My fat bike i have a 1x10
what are the mt bikes doing now. I am talking more high end for someone who wants to race.
reason perhaps i should do an upgrade on my regular 29er?

Your question is a bit unclear.
What are you using now on your 29er and what are you hoping to change? Are you trying to figure out if you can race with a 1x10 on your 29er?

1x11 seems to be all the rage now-a-days. As for us guys who do not have super deep pockets and mere mortal legs 3x9, 3x10, and 2x10 all still work great.

1x9 and 1x10 work fine too, for little or no extra cost. The trade-off is there may be some real grunt climbs that'll have you pushing every now and then. So far it has not been enough to make me want to drop $100 on a 42t cog.

The common rear cassette for a 29er is a 11-36. Front 2x rings can go from 22/36, 24/38, and 26/38 or higher.
Hot ticket is to run a 1x nowadays.

Most XC trails I can ride all in my big ring, but I do use my small ring for steep climbs and it helps. I personally wouldn't do 1x without going to SRAM 1x11 so that I could use 34T up front with the 10-42 cassette. That would actually replace all but my lowest gear, 28x36, and actually give me more top speed.

Most 29ers these days come with either a 22/36 or 24/38 and a 11-36 cassette. Moving to a high end 29er...it'll probably come with a 26/38 or higher.
Living in So Cal there are long climbs. I use a 1x 30T in the front and 11-42 in the rear. My local rides don't really call for the 42T...but with a 4-5 mile climb at the start...the 42T is nice to not have to slow grind up the steeper sections.
Gearing depends a lot on where you ride. If I lived someplace flat...then I'd probably not need the 42T in the back.

I'm fat and not in the greatest shape so I run a 22/30/40 up front and a 11-36 in the back on my Yelli. I use 32-20 mostly on my single speed Specialized Carve, but will switch to 22T for hillier courses and 17T for fast stuff and commuting. I also run 22/30/40 and 11-36 on my fatbike. On my Soma Double Cross I use a compact 34/50 in front and 11-36 in the back. For the road its 34/50 and 11-34.

Take an Honest look at yourself and your bike and where you ride before going to a 1X system.
I'm back on a 3X9 from a 1X
I ride sand, gravel and root strewn fire roads,
Technical single track,
Long mid level climbs mixed with short punchy climbs with high speed descents.
One ring up front means no bailout's if you get in a fix.
I use ALL three chain rings on every single ride ...
I ride sections where I stay mid cassette and jump between all three chainrings, pushing hard on the downs looking for speed to make the ups...
You'll look a whole lot cooler spinning a granny ring up a climb than you will pushing your 1X bike up one....
,,,just sayin,,,
