Libby-Noxon-Plains-Polson-Kalispell-Eureka-Libby loop

We're planning a light credit card touring ride starting in Libby and going counter clockwise through Noxon, Plains, Polson, Kalispell, and Eureka. I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who has local knowledge of the roads in these areas. Thanks in advance for any advice,

Eureka to Libby on MT 37 is a great ride. If you are planning to go through Whitefish from Kalispell you might want to invest in the appropriate section of Adventure Cycling's Northern Tier map. it covers Whitefish to Libby and uses some alternatives to U.S. 93 in places, including a very nice one between Fortine and Eureka. Or I could map it for you if your trip is still upcoming. The nice thing about the ACA maps is that they show the locations of services. IIRC, one section of their Great Parks North route covers Whitefish to Kallispell.

US-2 from Libby over to Troy has a full shoulder. MT-56 south to MT-200 has zip as does MT-200 over to US-93. US-93 has a fair shoulder all the way up to Whitefish. From Whitefish north on US-93 for 10-15 miles is little or no shoulder. After that it's a nice ride up to Libby. From Eureka over to Rexford there is a 5-mile section without a shoulder. MT-37 from Rexford back into Libby is a nice ride.
