Moved to Great Falls, MT. Seeking info on potential route down to Helena.

Hello, everybody. It have been quite a while since I've been on bikeforums.net. Anyway, I've moved to Great Falls, Montana back in October and had been trying to get around on my older bike. Getting divorced so recently I've picked up a much faster bike (still want to buy something better but I can wait til later now) and will be having a lot more free times to do long rides over the summer (Paraeducator so summer is off for me).

So I'm commuting around Great Falls a lot for work and everything else. I am now planning a 100 miles camping bike trip down to Helena around June 9-11 (There's a deaf gathering going on at a campground).

My biggest concern right now is the inability to find out the best route there to avoid gravel road. I also have a bike trailer (similar to BOB's trailer) so I'm just trying to figure out the best spot to camp about halfway between Helena and Great Falls. It look like I might be able to camp at the northern portion of the Helena National Forest but I'm not totally sure of the camping policies at that particular forest though (and whether I can reach their campsites via bike). I wouldn't mind hiking just a few miles once I've locked my bike up if this is anything important to be concerned about.

I'm just feeling out for any potential tips from this regional forum. Thank you :)

Maybe the frontage road that goes by the airport to Ulm and then Old U.S. 91 and Craig Frontage Rd. Google maps shows a private campground just south of Tower Rock S.P. At Wolf Creek it becomes Recreation Rd. S. That appears to end at interchange 219 of I-15, so you'd have to ride the Interstate for maybe 10 miles or so, depending on where in Helena you want to end up.

BTW...You can find campground my searching Google Maps for "Campgrounds near [name of town]"
