Saw this on the same news website this weekend - but can't find any other real info on it, like how many miles, what the route is, etc. Does anyone know where to find more, and good, info? Google did nothing for me on it.

Good question;
I just checked the online CDOT cycling map, and it is outdated.

That article is misleading. The news is that now you can get from Denver to Glenwood without riding on I-70. There was a 2 mile stretch between the Genessee and Evergreen Parkway exits where riding on I-70 was allowed because there was no adjacent path or road. That has now changed with the construction of a bike path next to I-70 on that stretch. The article says you never have to touch a highway - not true. You have to take US Highway 6 over Loveland Pass, and you're on US Highway 40 for a while too. Yes these are more like frontage roads, but the speed limits are 45 and up in places.
So there are many ways to get from DIA to I-70 & C-470 or Hwy 93 which is where I'd want to end up to start my journey into the mountains. Pick one according to your own tastes. From there, you can ride on combinations of Hwy 40, Hwy 6 , various frontage roads and bike paths all the way to Glenwood. A good chunk of the route is this - head up Hwy 40 from I-70 & 93 until it hits Hwy 6 after going over Floyd Hill. You're on Hwy 6 for about 1/2 mile then you can enter the bike path on the left. The path will take you into Idaho Springs. From there, look up the route followed by the Triple Bypass. That will take you all the way to Avon. From there I'm not sure but I know there's a path along the river through Glenwood Canyon. Let us know after you completed this epic ride
BTW, the new section of bike path is nice and it's great that our government/community cares about bicycling as much as they do. But, riding that section of I-70 was always a blast and I'll miss it.

Thanks for the info!
It was always fun telling someone I rode that section of I-70 on a bike, and seeing the wide-eyes.
But hell, that paved berm is so wide that it was effectively having my own lane.
The biggest concern I had was getting flats from those tiny wires shed by worn-out steel-belted tires.

While riding the motorcycle today, I spotted part of the new path near Genesee.
Checking Google Maps, I see the map view has the path indicated with a broken line.
It starts here at the RTD Rideshare parking lot, and runs adjacent to the buffalo pen: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.7108...2942134,18.09z
