Biking in SD

In about a week, I'm going to be in the Sioux Fall, SD area. Any suggestions on areas to go riding and check out?

Hope I'm not too late to help. Sioux Falls actually has a fantastic bike trail that loops around the city, mostly following the Big Sioux River which meanders through the city. As with most things on this part of the state, it's relatively flat riding, but a lot of fun and a good way to get around town. Just be aware it is a popular multi use trail (especially downtown and the southern end), so depending on the day you'll come across a lot of walkers/roller bladers, etc. Total length with optional spurs is about 25 miles.

Unfortunately there really aren't any other trails that link up to other communities in the area. Some of the highways have wide shoulders that are good for riding. Drivers are fairly courteous for the most part. If you enjoy gravel riding, there are tons of gravel roads in the area. No specific recommendations for that, since I don't know exactly where you'll be based.

Mission Bay has miles of foot/bike path. Also, from PB to MB and back on the boardwalk is a nice ride. Biking to La Jolla from PB is quiet easy as well.
