What street is exit 256?

snowy 02-18-07 05:15 PM

Hey everyone thanks for the great ride again. :) I'm soo happy I rode out the pain and finished the ride. Thanks BM for staying with me going up Lookout and the Advil. Your the greatest!!! :)

Have a great week!!!

Snowy

Great ride! I really enjoyed my first ride up Lookout Mtn... look forward to doing it again. :)

Stats: 15.38 miles, 2096.11 feet elevation

celticfrost 02-18-07 09:26 PM

OK, I really sucked today. Excuses include that it was my 2nd ride in 5 months and that my back was killing me. But since Snowy toughed it out, I felt I had to do the same.

Glad pwnt made it back to his vehicle in one piece after blowing-up his r. dereailler.

That being said, it was a gorgeous climb and is one that I look forward to doing many more times this year. I think Kyle mentioned that a good time up Lookout (~1500' in ~4.5 miles) is 30 minutes - I've added that as a goal for 2007.

BM, thanks for leading the way.

superdex 02-18-07 09:41 PM

Hey Celtic, here's a goal for ya: Tommy Danielson did it in 16 minutes :o

Actually it was the front derailleur. One of the links on the chain opened up and hooked the derailleur, sucking it through. :( Mad props to BM for the chain link. I owe you big time Brother! I should have paid you for it right there but I wasn't thinking. Little frustrated at that point.
Glad you guys had fun. I will be ready to go next weekend. <breaks the wallet AGAIN *sigh>

Bah. It was freely given. Throw it in your seat bag as insurance against a future mishap. (Because we all know that if you're prepared, it'll never happen, right??? :p )

See ya next time. :)

Hopefully next ride you will be good to go!! :)

Thinking about this one, just to make people feel bad: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=4994756

Actually, have two Trek 1220's I'm gonna look at.

snowy 02-19-07 01:44 PM

Ha ha BM. :)

I'm sure whatever you buy you will make it run smoothly.

Pwnt 02-19-07 07:11 PM

Dude! That thing is friggin SWEET! It' has a front derailluer on it so it blows mine away. :D

Last week I boasted that I have "routes running out of my ears" so let's put it to the test. I'll do the route for this weekend in the Boulder/Broomfield area. A couple of questions:

1. Saturday or Sunday?

2. Distance? I can go from <25 miles to over 125 miles (but I ain't gonna do that one this weekend).

3. Start time?

I'll post a map today or tomorrow depending on the distance people want. I think I'll start another thread however, this one is getting a bit big.

Pwnt 02-20-07 09:37 AM

As I understand it.....the weather this weekend is going to leave something to be desired.

snowy 02-20-07 09:39 AM

Yeah I heard the weather is not looking good this weekend :(

bmclaughlin807 02-20-07 11:41 AM

Bah. Man up! Let's ride! :)

1) don't matter. C. and I were considering the RMCC ride Sunday (47mi to DIA and back), I can be talked into pretty much anything....

2) 40-50 would be good

3) 11:30, 12?

I'll keep an eye on it and if things look bad, we'll postpone a week.

While you and I may go out in that crap, the other people here are hot house flowers. They'd wilt;) I'll still keep an eye on the weather.

hairlessbill 02-20-07 04:22 PM

My vote is for Sunday. Any distance is okay with me. Start time around 11:30 is best for me.

Pwnt 02-20-07 06:55 PM

Yeah, that's a MTB. IF we're talking MTB I'm down. Roadbikes will have to wait a week I'm think. I have the parts, don't have the time to get em on.

Zin 02-20-07 09:36 PM

D'OH! I missed the ride! :(

I am on call this Saturday, but should be free to ride Sunday if the wx holds.

And if its snowy etc... I have my ice bike ready to roll along with new lights. Lets get out there.

Take your parts to Westside!! :) Let them do the work.

Pwnt 02-20-07 10:27 PM

But I'm Po'!!! Remember?

It's actually not that hard just need to take the time to sit down and do it. (Note to self: don't pin the lead edge of the chain link....bad joo joo)

Pwnt 02-20-07 10:28 PM

And Zin...good to see your still with us. Thought we lost ya. :D

"With skinsuit on and a windless 60 degrees, Tom beat the old record by almost a minute. His time was 16:02!"

Well, if I had a skinsuit and conditions were perfect, I could knock it out in 16 mins too. :D
