Raising the Abyss
OK, I really sucked today. Excuses include that it was my 2nd ride in 5 months and that my back was killing me. But since Snowy toughed it out, I felt I had to do the same.
Glad pwnt made it back to his vehicle in one piece after blowing-up his r. dereailler.
That being said, it was a gorgeous climb and is one that I look forward to doing many more times this year. I think Kyle mentioned that a good time up Lookout (~1500' in ~4.5 miles) is 30 minutes - I've added that as a goal for 2007.
BM, thanks for leading the way.

Actually it was the front derailleur. One of the links on the chain opened up and hooked the derailleur, sucking it through.
Mad props to BM for the chain link. I owe you big time Brother! I should have paid you for it right there but I wasn't thinking. Little frustrated at that point.
Glad you guys had fun. I will be ready to go next weekend. <breaks the wallet AGAIN *sigh>

Looking at a couple bikes
Thinking about this one, just to make people feel bad: https://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=4994756

Actually, have two Trek 1220's I'm gonna look at.

Last week I boasted that I have "routes running out of my ears" so let's put it to the test. I'll do the route for this weekend in the Boulder/Broomfield area. A couple of questions:
1. Saturday or Sunday?
2. Distance? I can go from <25 miles to over 125 miles (but I ain't gonna do that one this weekend).
3. Start time?
I'll post a map today or tomorrow depending on the distance people want. I think I'll start another thread however, this one is getting a bit big.

1) don't matter. C. and I were considering the RMCC ride Sunday (47mi to DIA and back), I can be talked into pretty much anything....
2) 40-50 would be good
3) 11:30, 12?

My vote is for Sunday. Any distance is okay with me. Start time around 11:30 is best for me.

Yeah, that's a MTB. IF we're talking MTB I'm down. Roadbikes will have to wait a week I'm think. I have the parts, don't have the time to get em on.

D'OH! I missed the ride!
I am on call this Saturday, but should be free to ride Sunday if the wx holds.
And if its snowy etc... I have my ice bike ready to roll along with new lights. Lets get out there.

Well, if I had a skinsuit and conditions were perfect, I could knock it out in 16 mins too.
