When did they start taking away lanes in Denver?

And replacing them with bicycle lanes? I know they've had bike lanes, but yesterday I was cruising around and noticed they actually took away a car lane, and turned it into a bicycle lane. It was on Arapahoe St I believe.

They just added a lane to the north-end road in Red Rocks, freshly repaved, there's a wide shoulder for most of it and where there isn't room for the bike lane there's a: << type marking for bikes on the road. Very nice to see.
