I'm not a local, and for the past 3 years have been struggling mightily to locals on bikes. Whether it's a fun cruise around the block, a road ride, or a XC mountain ride at the Reservoir, it's not easy to find folks that like to ride. Slowly that mindset is changing. We've got great year round weather...except for the last 3 days...wide, low traffic streets, and a great XC trail system, urban trail system, an increasing network of bike lanes and sharrows, a small core group of bicycle advocates, a small core group of local mtn and road riders, but still the battle is up hill. The system is rounding into place, now we just need locals on bikes!! Any suggestions?

How about having Pueblo host a stage of the quiznos race in 2012? Maybe that would inspire people to ride.

There seems to be no organized events in or around Pueblo. The closest I can find is Bike with Pike. Maybe you partner with a hospital and do something like the Boulder Good Sam Bike Jam or the Loveland Community Classic Bike Tour.

We have plenty of small local organized rides, but it's usually the same 20-30 people that attend the events.
