Does anyone else feel that there are a lot of road bikes that seem to start high compared to what I hear they go for in other cities? I'm talking about Varsitys and the like that all seem to start at around $120 or so. Is it just me or do the used bikes all start in that range when maybe some of them shouldn't be.

On a side note, does anyone know of any shops that have used bikes that are reasonable, or have any bikes themselves? Looking for something I can ride 20 miles or so a few times a week to get to UMSL and back. I don't have any problem paying in the $150+/- range if I feel I am getting my moneys worth.

There appears to be a couple of people "flipping" used bikes in the market. There asking prices seem to be pretty high. I think this is driving the trend.
