Reminder for those who frequent Deer Creek as well. The act of "uncliping" at the stop sign on Deer Creek Canyon Dr and S. Owens is a must when you see Jeffco watching.

That explains the extra cops on my way home on Deer Creek. Unmarked and bike cops both.

It's necessary. I've seen lots of cyclists recently blowing through stop signs and riding like jerks. Mostly around Deer Creek/High Grade.

I drive from Morrison to Evergreen occasionally. I am amazed that no one has been killed, given the narrow roads, the number of bicyclists, the high speed traffic and poor visibility around corners. I wouldn't ride it myself.

Unclipping is kinda stupid. First of all on my trike, one of the advantages of riding a trike is you can just stop clipped in. Second many cyclist cant just trackstand while stopped.

Citing cyclists for not coming to a full stop at a stop sign is a case of putting the letter of the law before safety. The safest way for a cyclist to go through an intersection is to slow to maybe 10 mph, check for traffic, then proceed.
There are a few states that recognize this, and make it legal for cyclists to treat stop signs as yield signs.

Was in Morrison last weekend and watched a ticket being given to a bicyclist who essentially swerved around the red light in the middle of town - by the bicycle shop.
