Getting around Salt Lake County

Hi yall, I have 3 vehicles, 2 vans and a bicycle, I prefer the bicycle. My self and many friends who live out in the west side are belly aching about the new car lane stuff running east and west.

If feels like we choose the way we go by whats safest.
My GF just wants to ride to Wal-Mart and it requires going a long way out of the way.
We are a bit timid, and fear crossing I215 on 4700 South or 5400 South, we find 4100 South very nice.
I know they is a lot of yall who ride around this town, male and female, I see ya.,,,
Do any of you have preferred East/West routes over I 215?

Yeah, not a ton of great options around there. I generally ride 47th once a week, but it's not super nice. A more pleasant option for your GF might be to take 6200S, heading East to Canal St. (1300W.), then go North to 5500s. Canal takes you under I 215.

I know this is pretty far north, but I go from 900 East to 3200 West using 1700 South every day on my commute. I have been doing it for a year and have been really impressed with this route. I think there are enough freeway alternatives that not too many people end up using this route in a car.
