St. Louis MO::: Bridge 2 Bridge: "Route 3 Sprint"

Brought to you by roughly the same people who bring you those cool marathon crash races, we present you with the Bridge 2 Bridge: "Route 3 Sprint".

This is an unsanctioned and open race, with three categories for prizes (men's fixed, men's geared, and women's) and a cash payout for the overall winner. Entrance fee is $3. There will be some serious competition, but don't let that scare you! This ride is bound to be fun regardless if you're pushing for first or just enjoying the ride with your friends.

The race will start on the MO/IL state line on the Old Chain of Rocks bridge, crossing over onto Chouteau Island, and then finally onto IL Route 3 where racers will head south towards the McKinley bridge, where they will find the finish line on the IL/MO state line in the middle of the bridge.

For those of you who have never ridden Route 3 and are a little uneasy about giving this a try, have no fear! There is a large, accommodating shoulder that runs the length of the race route. The road is in great condition and is almost always clear of all but the most harmless of debris. There will be safety briefings to make sure that this race is as safe as possible as well.

There has been a lot of talk of some really strong riders attending, such as members of several collegiate racing teams, Cat1/2/3 racers, and some of the fastest riders from the Wolfpack Hustle-St. Louis. This is the perfect opportunity to see how you stack up against some of the strongest legs in the city.

All this being said, this is meant to be a fun ride. So come, hang out, and be a part of our fledgling cycling community!

This is is the first I've heard of this ride. I sometimes ride that area during my lunch break. How did it go? the day was cool and rainy.
