Bike MS: NYC

Is anyone from here riding in the Bike MS: NYC this year?

I really really really want to ride this ride. As a clyde, I am not able to ride 30 miles yet. I just got on my bike for the first time this year on Wednesday because of an injury.

Something about riding on traffic free streets of NYC just seems totally awesome.

Anyone have an experience with this ride? Do you ride streets or is is it the Greenway?

Have volunteered as a marshal a few times. Unless there's a scheduling conflict; I'll probably volunteer again this year. There's plenty of time to train; it's in September right? I volunteer for so many charity events every year, I forget the dates sometimes. :) You may even decide to go for the 55 mile route when the time comes. 55 and 100 mile route goes thru one of the tunnels to NJ; either Lincoln or Holland. when you come out of NJ; you'll be riding with traffic. 30 mile route is a loop around Manhattan; West side hiway then FDR. This route is closed to traffic.
See you there!

I've been meaning to do one for a while, but the stories I've heard of extremely dense crowds that make a lot of the course unpleasant have put it fairly low on my hit list.

Been volunteering for various charity rides over the years; Five Boro Bike Tour, Tour de Bonx, JC Ward Tour, NYC Century, Epic Ride, etc. For me the fun I get out weights any inconvenience or danger(perceived or reality).
