In search of motivation

Perfect weather outside. As usual, the hardest part is getting from the couch to the garage. All dressed in full kit.

I am faced with this challenge all season long and I find that the best way to get motivated is to drag myself onto the bike, get on the road, and absolutely hate the first five minutes so I can love the rest of the ride.

It felt so good to get out of the house on my own! Rode to town, got lunch, came home. Should have been easy. I was exhausted!

Success!! I wouldn't fault you for staying home today, cold damp riding is never a picnic.

GREAT JOB!!! Grow older, forced interruption of riding due to weather/health, end results are--- it takes time to come back.

Down here in SW FL preparing right now for a 100+ miler tonight under almost full moon. If you COME ON DOWN!!! you ride

I rode an hour last week, came home, sat on the couch for 30 minutes and could then hardly get up.

It's the spring riding question, which hurts the most, my legs or my butt !.

If I'm feeling down but not totally out, and if originally planning a 30 mile ride, maybe I'll just do 10 or 15 or whatever.

You just have to say to yourself you are going to ride no matter what. Oh wait, it's raining... Never mind.
